Starting in 1996 I have managed two token auctions each year -- one in the Fall often associated with the National Token Collectors Association (NTCA), which I founded, and the second in late Spring (sometimes as part of the Western States Token Society Token Jamboree). I have collected tokens for over 60 years, written a number of catalogs for collectors (several of which received awards), authored numerous articles pertaining to tokens, and served as an officer in a number of numismatic organizations.

Starting in 2004 I began regular travel to foreign countries -- Africa multiple times (Namibia/Botswana/Zimbabwe, Kenya/Tanzania, Morocco/Tunisia, Ethiopia 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015), Turkey, Central America, Peru/Equador/Galapagos Islands, Cambodia/Thailand/Vietnam, Chile/Easter Island/Patagonia/Buenos Aires/Iguaçu Falls, Imperial China/Yangtze River/Tibet (although Tibet became out of bounds), Egypt/Saudi Arabia/Jordan, Papua New Guinea, Bhutan/Sikkim/Nepal, Mongolia, northern Vietnam/southern China, Orissa and Chhatttisgarh states of India, Amazon River jungle of Pero (twice), a photo safari to Namibia/Botswan/Zimbabwe, and a visit to northeastern India.

Over the years I've also been an avid fisherman making two yearly major trips -- one to Langara Island in the Queen Charlottes of British Columbia and the other on a long-range boat out of San Diego that traveled south into Mexican waters. Now that I have ceased these fishing adventures, fish pictures may also be added to this site eventually.

Finally, I have an interest in archaeology that has driven some of my travels where archaological sites are a major attraction. Here in Shingletown I have headed up a project to document a pioneer trail (Nobles Trail,1852) that passes very near my home. Some of the documentation photos may someday be added here.
